Teaching and learning in KIM is based on the following model

Activity Based Learning

CORPORATE READINESS: StEP MODULE- 2024 AND ONGOING

The objectives were:
  • To enhance soft skills ,resume development and placement quotient.
  • Improve communication skills and be able to relate global, economic, legal and ethical aspects of business and knowledge of businesses.
  • Subject embeds could include domain areas, strategic management and business communications

In early 2024, a faculty specialising in corporate readiness and with substantive training experience in management schools was appointed to deliver the corporate readiness module. The module is titled StEP and involves mandated sessions for all students which include grooming, business case analysis, GD-PI preparation, role play resume writing, business brieng etc. The sessions are practical and hands-on with invited experts and alumni leading the sessions.

Blended Learning

COEP BHAU INSTITUTE BOOTCAMP : 2022-24 AND ONGOING.

  • To introduce the concept of entrepreneurship and skills required.
  • Cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset and problem solving approach.
  • Subjects embeds : One credit course embed, strategic management.

“Entrepreneurship and Innovation” Boot Camp for PGDM students. This event, conducted in collaboration with COEPs-BHAU Centre for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Leadership, and was overseen by Dr. Srinivasa Suresh Sikhakolli, Associate Professor and Dean of Entrepreneurship and Convenor-IIC. KIM has a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with COEPs-BHAU to support entrepreneurship, pre-incubation, and incubation initiatives. Insightful sessions were delivered by industry experts Mr. Mandar Joshi, CEO, Bhau center, Pune. And Dr. Prajakta Joshi, entrepreneurship educator. The event was aligned with the KIM academic compulsory one credit course for all the students. This would make all the students benefit from this event. The performance of the students was evaluated based on the three parameters; Self-discovery, Idea validation, and Pitch deck. The self-discovery was an individual assessment. Whereas Idea validation and Pitch deck were group activities.

One of our alumni Rahul has signed an MoU with COEP-Bhau incubation center for incubating his idea.

Collaborative Learning

NATIONAL MANAGEMENT WEEK DEC 2024 . NOW A MANDATE IN 2024-26

The objectives were:
  • To deliver a learning experience where inputs were to be shared equally and effective teamwork would ensure higher order results
  • Students would assess their SWOC and skill enhancement requirements.
  • Subject embeds could include ESG, Indian Ethos and Business Ethics and Operations, Business communications.

In December 2024, students celebrated the AIMS National Management Week which involved UN SDG driven activities which helped their holistic development and learning. The report with outcomes is available at: NMW REPORT 2024 . This made it to the nals of the AIMS National Management Week contest and results are to be announced on February 25th,2025.

This experience has resulted in creation of an UN SDG immersion fortnight in March of every year with a multidisciplinary approach.

KIM has set up a HIGH-WIRE forum which curates and encourages live projects from corporates through its faculty members who champion and lead this initiative.

Experiential learning

HALDI CHAWAL PROJECTS 2024-25

The objectives were:
  • To deliver a hands-on experience to students of life outside the classroom and build their resilience and social skills, creativity and the ability to think critically.
  • Enhance employability skills and also upvalue subjects like marketing and related electives like Sales, Operations and Research.

Haldi Chawal : First hand S2C ( student to customer) sales. In mid 2024 and in December 2024, the institute’s produce of high quality rice and organic ginger powder was processed, packed and sold by student teams out of the campus. This was a challenge and a learning experience for all . Whilst rice was easier to sell, ginger powder was a bigger challenge as the strategy was to sell 1 kg bags and in all 350 kgs had to be sold at the market price. It taught students resilience and the art of selling and customer service.. The Rice Project report is available at RICE PROJECT 2024. Haldi project is completed and the report is under review.

Focused Learning

C4i4 ENGAGEMENT 2024 and ongoing

  • Students would experience digital learning and publishing skills and improve their critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Subject embeds could include ESG, Indian Ethos and Business Ethics and Operations, Business communications, Strategic Management.

C4i4 lab focuses on training stakeholders on industry 4.0 and providing consultancy services for its deployment. KIM has an MOU with them for training and faculty development programs. In 2022 , 4 students successfully completed the certification program. With effect from 2024, KIM has now an in-house lab where students engage in learning about Industry 4.0 : SUMAN.

To empower faculty a unique 2-day Faculty Development Program: i4 Next-Gen Mentor is being conducted for our faculty by the expert team from C4i4 which will enhance deployment further in 2025-26

THE ETHOS-ETHICS PROJECT 2024-25 ongoing

This was linked to the courses Managerial Economics-Business environment, Indian Ethos and Business Ethics. Students formed teams and have created 5 unique books with ISBN with themes based on Mulla Nasruddin, Times “Speaking Tree”, better India change makers, Ethics journal compendium and a book of 100 companies. The editors are the students themselves with a faculty acting as a consulting editor. The books are meant for internal value creation and act as a resource for the subjects and enhancement of knowledge. As a part of our vision, these books are not for commercial purposes and are not being sold. The work was initiated in November 2024 .The draft is under review and the publishing deadline is March 31, 2025. ISBN numbers have been alloted. Under this initiative, a unique REFLECTION video-sketch has also been executed and available as a diary collation.
